Creating safer, cleaner communities
As instances of fly-tipping, waste crime and illegal dumping continue to rise across the UK, local authorities remain on the frontline of tackling environmental offences and creating clean, safe and attractive communities for residents.
As a result, local authorities are being granted enhanced powers to tackle the issue – read our briefing here on the government’s consultation on new powers. Cardiff City Council helps students move out responsibly as recycling scheme reaches record levels
Since 15 June, Cardiff Council has been working with landlords, universities and students’ unions to help thousands of students move out of Cardiff for the summer holidays, to remove waste, increase recycling, donate unwanted items to charity and keep the streets of Cathays and Plasnewydd as clean as possible.
