The Butterfly Conservation charity is working alongside Glasgow City Council to tackle the decline in common butterflies and moths.
The two-year project aims to engage more than 1,000 residents and recruit at least 40 volunteers to maintain the new Wild spaces at parks, schools and community hubs.
Over the next two years, the initiative hopes to create 15 Wild Spaces at public green spaces, establish 13 more Wild Spaces for schools and help 20 community hubs to create their own Wild Spaces.
Start-up packs containing wildflower seeds will also be distributed to encourage residents to create their own Wild Spaces in their local area.
The Wild Spaces initiative has already proven successful in Perth and Stirling, where over 1,000 people created 20 new butterfly and moth habitats.
