Bradford City Council aims to end homelessness by 2027
Bradford City Council has announced a new seven-year partnership with national charity, Waythrough, in a bid to end homelessness in the district by 2027.
Waythrough specialises in mental health, drug, alcohol and housing support, and will deliver an enhanced 'No Second Night Out' service for people sleeping rough or at risk of doing so.
The No Second Night Out scheme is designed to provide rapid intervention for people facing homelessness, ensuring they can access safe accommodation, specialist support, and pathways towards longer-term housing solutions.
The partnership will provide an additional five dedicated bedspaces for rough sleepers across the district, bringing the total number of beds to 37.
Bradford Council's partnership with Waythrough marks a further step towards their goal to bring homelessness as close to zero as possible by 2027. It also supports the ambitions set out in the recently launched National Plan to end Homelessness, which calls for coordinated action between local authorities, housing providers, charities and communities.
