We are delighted to announce the finalists of the APSE Overall Council of the Year Award 2026.
This award recognises the outstanding work being carried out by councils across the UK who are making a real difference to their communities. Focusing on the delivery of frontline services, this award celebrates the councils who are achieving excellent results across a range of service areas.
Mo Baines, APSE Chief Executive, said:
'After careful consideration, our expert judging panel has selected nine authorities for the Overall Council of the Year Award 2026.
Despite many councils navigating local government reorganisation, an increasingly complex operating environment and ongoing financial pressures, local authorities continue to deliver excellent services for residents and make a positive impact on their communities.
Congratulations to all the finalists. We look forward to celebrating your achievements in Liverpool!'
The winner of the prestigious Council of the Year Award 2026 will be announced in Liverpool at the APSE Annual Service Awards Charity Dinner, in aid of Parkinson's UK, on Thursday 17 September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Princes Dock, Liverpool.
