This year’s APSE (Southern Region) Parks and Green Spaces Seminar, will take place at the Burgess Hall, One Leisure, Westwood Rd, St. Ives PE27 6WU, on Thursday 12 November 2026.
Join us for the APSE (Southern Region) Parks & Green Spaces Seminar 2026: Creating Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Green Spaces
Local authority parks and open spaces are facing increasing pressures from climate change, financial constraints, development and changing community needs. At the same time, parks are essential community assets, supporting health and wellbeing, biodiversity, recreation, children's play and community cohesion.
The APSE Southern Region Parks and Open Spaces Seminar 2026 will explore how councils can protect, adapt and enhance their green spaces for the future. The programme will showcase practical examples of climate-resilient parks, play spaces and green infrastructure, including approaches to managing extreme heat, drought, biodiversity and increasing grassfire risks alongside the financial and operational challenges facing local authority parks services.
