Started in 1980 with a fleet of just 6 vehicles by Nigel Brown, N D Brown Ltd’s specialist independent Vehicle Rental and Sales have grown significantly over the subsequent 46 years.

Since its inception, N D Brown Ltd.’s efforts have been focused on supplying the utility, civil engineering, municipal and highway maintenance industries with high quality modern HGV hire vehicles such as asphalt hot boxes, tippers and 4×4’s for both short and long-term self-drive hire.

They currently have a fleet of over 1,300 vehicles and five strategically placed depots across the UK and Ireland.

And today, the business continues to diversify by adding new vehicles to their hire fleet on a regular basis, including cranes, beavertails, road sweepers, dropsides, gully emptiers, grabs, loaders and traffic management vehicles.

Their reputation as Hot Box specialists, is further cemented by the offering of a CPD-certified Hot Box Operator Training Course, designed exclusively for companies operating ND Brown Hot Boxes. This course equips operators with essential safety knowledge and practical guidance to ensure confident, compliant use in real-world working environments.

They also now sell a wide but specialised range of new and used commercial vehicles.
