Tuesday 14 October 2025, Leonardo Hotel, Derby
Join us in Derby for a day covering all aspects of creating liveable, safer and healthier neighbourhoods. This will also include a hands-on guided tour to see Derby City Council’s MJ Award-winning School Safe Havens scheme in action, a visit to their Digital Enforcement Hub and successful pavement parking ban, all of which are paying huge dividends in increasing the health and wellbeing of residents across the city by changing driver behaviour in a positive and constructive manner, reducing air pollution and congestion.
This will also be an opportunity to hear from a wide range of speakers including a leading active transport strategy expert, and leading councils from across our region who are innovating on promoting healthier lives across their districts. We’ll also have an insight into how Local Government Reorganisation will have an impact on services based on a successful authority's journey through LGR.
This will be an insightful, interactive and hands-on day that will be of interest to all local authority officers and elected members, and especially those with an interest in transport, planning, public realm, enforcement, greenspace, culture, leisure and wellbeing services.
Confirmed speakers include:
Emma Knight and Caren Goswell, Health and Wellbeing Team Leader / Wellbeing Development Officer, North West Leicestershire District Council: Active Menopause Programme
