Counter Terrorism Awareness and ACT for Local Authorities - Free for members

Thursday 16 April, 14.00-15.00

MS Teams

FREE for members!

Dr Amy Batley of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office will discuss Counter Terrorism Policing’s new ACT for Local Authorities initiative. The initiative provides targeted guidance to support councils to assess and mitigate terrorism-related risks and encourages councils to consider proportionate security measures which don’t unduly burden their operations.

Adam Tattersley of Counter Terrorism Police North East will also present on the innovative and effective initiatives that have been developed as a result of local authority engagement with this initiative in the North East region.

This is particularly relevant for local government contacts working in highways, parks, street cleansing, waste and leisure, where services often manage open, publicly accessible spaces and infrastructure that may be vulnerable to security threats.
