Monitoring and Measuring Climate Change

Monitoring and Measuring Climate Change

Climate change is a global challenge and local authorities are at the forefront of driving meaningful action. While self-monitoring your council’s climate adaptation efforts is important, the real value comes from benchmarking your progress against peers and learning from their experiences.

That’s why APSE has developed the Climate Change Benchmarking Module, a powerful tool designed to help your council track emissions trends and compare performance with similar authorities across the UK.

We group councils based on key factors such as local natural resources, carbon-related challenges, and socio-economic conditions. This like-for-like comparison gives you deeper insight into your progress and helps identify practical ways to improve.

Tracking your adaptation to the climate emergency is the first step. Comparing and learning from others is how we move forward.

Following a successful pilot programme, the module is now fully available to all councils.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any queries.
