APSE Energy Prospectus

APSE Energy was launched in June 2014 with a vision to ’facilitate the municipalisation of energy services’. APSE Energy services can help your council stay on top of the energy agenda through our briefing and technical notes, events, publications and newsletters.

Energy across the authority 2019 Energy across the authority 2018

These publications highlight some of the varied and ambitious projects undertaken by local authorities to develop the energy agenda. The examples provide real world descriptions of how local authorities have tackled the issues raised by the energy agenda in their localities.

Nottingham plan

Nottingham has made the commitment to become the first carbon neutral city in the country, reaching this target by 2028. This means cutting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from direct and indirect sources that arise from the consumption of energy within the city to near zero.

Winchester plan

Winchester City Council sets out actions to achieve ambitious carbon neutrality targets. ?The plan commits the council to review its own activities to reach carbon neutrality by 2024 - and sets the same ambitious goal for the wider district by 2030.

'I, Pencil' is a great essay that gives an insight into the interconnectedness of manufacturing things. Not from an environmental angle (the essay is 50 years+ old) but food for thought and a quick 5/10min read. https://oll.libertyfund.org/titles/read-i-pencil-my-family-tree-as-told-to-leonard-e-read-dec-1958
