The Big Energy Summit 2018

The Big Energy Summit 2018

APSE Energy is running its fourth annual BIG Energy Summit on 8th and 9th March 2018. Attendance at the event has grown year on year and this, along with the growing number of APSE Energy members, reflects the level of interest from officers and councillors in the energy agenda.

Previous Summits have been very successful for a number of reasons:-

  • The energy agenda is diverse – this event brings together industry experts to inform delegates about changes in the sector
  • Councils have assets and must use them effectively – this summit will provide a range of ways of doing so
  • The policy context has been an area of concern for those with energy responsibilities – speakers will consider the policy and strategic context
  • Some local authorities are further ahead than others – case studies will be provided by a number of local authorities outlining their approach, benefits and barriers for all to learn from
  • Networking is vital – there are many opportunities over the 2 days to discuss and question your colleagues from other authorities about specific or general issues
  • Councillors have an important role to play – we actively encourage the attendance of councillors so they can remain up-to-date with developments across the energy sector
  • APSE Energy is part of the APSE family committed to supporting local authorities – this event is provided solely for the benefit of the local government sector

This is a free event for APSE Energy members. 2 representatives can come along from each local authority and attendance at the summit, hotel accommodation and all meals and refreshments are free of charge.

Non-members are more than welcome to attend.
