APSE Northern Ireland: Making Great Places

APSE Northern Ireland: Making Great Places

This FREE event for APSE members in Northern Ireland will consider the interface between planning strategies, economic development and local environmental quality with morning plenary sessions which will explore planning and investment led economic growth, following by consideration of environment sustainability issues for local businesses and communities and ending with a discussion on the importance of a high performing suite of public realm services.

The afternoon session will compromise of two workshop events hosted by APSE Performance Networks.


Workshop 1: Environmental services workshop

•             Refuse collection

•             Street cleansing

•             Cemeteries

Within this workshop delegates will be asked to consider and contribute to discussions on the outcomes of the performance reports on refuse collection, street cleansing and cemeteries. This will give delegates an opportunity to explore the data processed by APSE on cost, quality and performance indicators. The workshops will also consider developments within the sector and within the Performance Networks data collection process.

Workshop 2:  Planning and Economic Development

Within this workshop delegates will have the opportunity to explore the findings of the data information provided and how to develop the performance information to make best use of the data.

Future focus will also be considered including how to share best practice to improve the performance of the services.

Facilitator: Mo Baines, APSE, Head of Communication and Coordination 


Registration commences at 9.00  for a  10.00 AM start. A networking lunch will be provided alongside all refreshments and the event will close at 4.00 PM

Cancellation and refund policy

Reservation is a contract. Substitution of delegates is acceptable any time in writing by email to vstarmer@apse.org.uk or fax to 0161 772 1811. Cancellations must be made in writing at least 10 working days before the event and will incur a 20% administration fee. No refunds can be given for cancellations received less than 10 working days before the event or for non-attendance. In the unlikely event of cancellation by the organisers, liability will be restricted to the refund of fees paid. The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme, speakers or venue should this become necessary.
