Dundee is a growing city on a journey of major economic, social and cultural development including its £1bn waterfront project. This is a key post leading the City’s roads and transportation function which is central to the city’s transformation.

The Head of Sustainable Transportation and Roads Infrastructure will make a significant contribution to sustainable growth by leading 150 professional and support staff responsible for the delivery of roads network management, road safety, Urban Traffic Control, public transport, cycling and walking, street lighting, parking, and corporate fleet, including the Council’s work on Electric vehicle deployment. The postholder will also lead road maintenance through a partnership with Tayside Contracts, a public contractor shared by the three Tayside Councils.

An accomplished professional at a senior level, you will have a record of achievement through leading multi-disciplinary teams and collaborative working. An innovator and a strategic thinker with strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to lead and manage change to improve service delivery.
