Dixon Walter are delighted to be working alongside Wheatley Group to recruit a Group Director of Assets and Repairs.  Wheatley is Scotland’s leading housing, care and property-management group, owning or managing 93,000 homes, and providing award-winning services to around 250,000 people in 18 local authority areas across Scotland.

Wheatley jointly owns one of Scotland’s largest repairs and maintenance companies, City Building (Glasgow). The joint venture provides investment and repair services in Wheatley communities in the west of Scotland in line with Wheatley’s mission to ‘Make Homes and Lives Better’.

The role of Group Director of Assets and Repairs has been created to support the Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic advice, leadership and direction for the asset and repairs division.  Wheatley has set challenging targets over the next five years to meet the diverse housing needs and economic circumstances of their customers and communities. The successful candidate will ensure the organisation delivers high quality and modern property maintenance services, repairs and improvement programmes which deliver exceptional value for money and a positive customer journey.

As a member of the Executive Team, you will contribute to the strategic management of the organisation, with a clear focus on the future as well as the here and now.

 It is key that you will:

  • Be in a strong leadership role with a proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and developing complex large-scale projects with public/private sector partnerships or joint venture partnerships at a comparable level. 
  • Have a track record of developing teams and shaping successful complex organisations with a ‘can do’ culture, and flexibility that allows it to meet evolving priorities and responsibilities.
  • Have an understanding of procuring complex housing/urban programmes or projects of a comparable nature within a public and private sector environment.
  • Evidence an ability to set high level vision and translate into broad objectives with real outcomes within a pressurised and regulated environment.
