APSE Annual Service Awards 2011 (Supported by the MJ)
Does your team or initiative fit the bill?
APSE is once again hosting its Annual Service Awards for local authorities and their public sector partners across the United Kingdom.
Since the awards was launched over twelve years ago, local authorities from across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have demonstrated their ability to innovate within service delivery, actively demonstrating new concepts and examples of best practice, which continuously improve the level of service to local communities.
Interest and recognition in the awards has grown year on year, with over 300 submissions received for the 2010 awards which were held in Derry in September. The local authorities who are winners and finalists receive publicity, both national and local, through the recognition of excellence in service delivery from the wider local government family.
Over 360 attended the presentation ceremony, including Government Ministers and senior local government figures to celebrate the very best in public service excellence. Whilst only a short time has passed since the 2010 awards were presented, the success of the awards demands a commencement to the qualification process for 2011 to allow councils and their public partners the maximum amount of lead in time to formulate submissions.
As touched upon above, the awards not only recognise and promote individual achievement, but also provide an invaluable opportunity for information to be shared with other authorities and bodies that recognise the hard work and dedication involved in delivering continuous improvement.
