APSE at the CCA 2009!

APSE was pleased to host two fringe events on ‘The environment within a recession’ with a panel of speakers consisting of Cllr Paul Bettison, Leader of Bracknell Forest and Chairman of the LGA environment board, Cllr Symon Fraser of East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Chairman of APSE’s Waste and Refuse Collection Advisory Group and Martin Joyce, Managing Director of Enterprise PLC. APSE launched a research report on Governance Neighbourhoods and Service Delivery at the Conservative Councillors Association on the 29 February 2008. Branded as a 'leap year proposal for our communities' the launch was attended by a high number of Conservative councillors who welcomed the opportunity to be involved in the research programme looking at how councils can effectively organise their local neighbourhood services.
