APSE local authority apprentice and trainee awards scheme
The APSE apprentice and trainee awards scheme has been running successfully for 12 years throughout the UK. The aim of the awards, which are open to every authority in the UK, is not only to give recognition to our future tradespersons, but also to the councils themselves who continue to invest in and provide first class training / employment initiatives in bona-fide Modern Apprenticeship schemes.
APSE apprenticeand trainee awards are split into 9 categories:
- Highways & street lighting
- Leisure
- Housing and building - Building Skills
- Housing and building - Mechanical and Electrical
- Female Housing and building - Building Skills
- Female Housing and building - Mechanical and Electrical
- Scottish building and housing
- Horticulturalist
- Transport & vehicle maintenance
If you would like more details such as the awards deadlines or to register your interest for any of the awards above please click here for full the awards leaflet and complete the online form.
Membership of APSE entitles participants from member authorities to attend any of these events at a heavily discounted rate. For events that last more than one day, hotel accommodation is offered to delegates at a substantially discounted rate. Seminar fees include all delegate documentation, meals and refreshments as appropriate.

What’s new…
All future apprentice and trainee submissions should now fit within the APSE Portfolio Template which will be issued to all contacts upon receipt of their submission of interest for all future awards. The template is in the format of section dividers which act as guidance to each section and will allow each apprentice/trainee to keep within the same format as others within the same category. |
Section deadlines for our 2011 awards categories have been updated, these can be found in the online brochure detailed below.
The 2011 apprentice and trainee information brochure is available to view online, it details the new submission guidelines and also the updated deadlines for 2011 events. Click on the image to the left to view. |
