APSE professional practice forum 2011: Cemeteries and crematoria
With the deadline of December 2012 approaching for mercury abatement, this event raised awareness of how local authorities are meeting this as well as other challenges facing cemeteries and crematoria services. It will cover areas of national interest including the re-use of graves and the reuse of energy as well as practical guidance and research on issues such as managing memorial safety and managing closed churchyards.
With the unprecedented budget cuts facing local authority services, this event will also looked at alternatives to traditional burial, the practical aspects of maintaining cemeteries, efficiency issues and measuring the performance of cemeteries and crematoria services.
