APSE Northern

APSE Northern represents 77 authorities across the north which includes the Greater Manchester and Merseyside conurbations, Cumbria and the Lake District, the North East, Lancashire, Cheshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire and Humberside. APSE Northern has a great reputation for active regional seminars developing a strong networking group particularly in the areas of crime, disorder, neighbourhoods and the environment.

APSE northern is keen to support its members during a time of widespread reorganisation. Within APSE Northern some 19 authorities have been directly affected by reorganisation. APSE Is keen to help whether through support through our membership services or through production of ‘legacy reports’ from our performance networks service.

Waste to energy schemes  - APSE Northern complimentary working lunch event

Friday 19 March 2010, 11.00 AM – 2.00 PM at Formby Hall Golf Resort, Southport

APSE Northern members recently attended a free event for members only on Friday 19 March 2010 looking at Waste to Energy Schemes. This working lunch provided an opportunity  to discuss the very topical issue of waste to energy schemes, the interface with the carbon reduction commitment, the impact on refuse collection and recycling streams, waste disposal investment and new technologies.

APSE northern and the night time economy

APSE Northern’s latest event on the night time economy was held in Chester on the 15 September 2009. Topics under discussion included planning for City Centre and night time teams using smarter workforce roster patterns and shifts. Lesley McDermott a former police officer and expert on licensing regulations also explored approaches to training and developing licensees and bar staff to avoid under-age drinks sales and alcohol abuse problems.
