APSE service award winners 2007

APSE has announced the names of the organisations that beat off stiff competition to win its 2007 Awards for excellence in service delivery.

More than 750 representatives from councils and public services across the UK gathered for a gala dinner at Gateshead International Stadium to hear who had won the coveted APSE Service Awards 2007.

Local government minister, Parmjit Dhanda highlighted the contribution of the awards in “recognising excellence in public services”. He said: “There was fierce competition for the Awards this year because the story of local government over the last ten years has been one of improvement.”

APSE’s chief executive, Paul O’Brien, said: “These Awards are about everything that APSE represents: Local authorities delivering excellent services to the public and sharing their experiences with their colleagues.”
