Meeting the funding challenge in Local Government: Strategies for cost-effective service delivery
Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, London W8
Tuesday 16th March 2010
In order to achieve the Government’s objective of reducing its £178 billion debt in half over the next four years, a study just published by the Local Government Association and Solace suggests that, taking into account the spending areas that both the Government and the Conservatives want to protect, councils will have to cut their spending by over 10% or £11 billion a year. This major one day conference, supported by APSE and including APSE Chief Executive Paul O'Brien as a speaker will provide an opportunity to debate the big issues.
