CheckedSafe was founded to provide simple and inexpensive compliance solutions that could be tailored across all industries. Together with our dedicated team of developers and client account managers, we are now providing compliance services across many platforms specifically, Fleets - small to multi-national, commercial and plant hire vehicles, Utilities and many other service sectors that require monitored compliance.

 

We are currently working with several Local Authorities across the UK, which are either appointed directly or indirectly through partnership schemes with our clients. This helps Local Authorities improve compliance in their region as it enables them to manage and protect their workforce and comply with legal and commercial requirements whilst reducing cost and liability.

Project: Greenwave

Greenwave is collaborative partnership led and developed by Idox and CheckedSafe, with Amey and Birmingham City Council who have secured funding from InnovateUK, to help reduce highway maintenance fleet emissions around the city.

The 12-month Greenwave pilot, which started in April 2017, will provide fleet vehicle drivers with an application that uses intelligent real time traffic signal data around the city. It is envisaged that by being aware of when traffic lights will change, drivers will be able to adapt their speed to ‘ride the Greenwave’ and minimise stops and starts at traffic lights. This will help reduce emissions and fuel, which are typically greater from stationary/idling traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to drive in a more efficient manner via gamification. Drivers are awarded a green score each time they drive, based on both their driving style and how they approach traffic signals. Points accumulate over the month with a monthly league board rewarding the driver with the highest score.

On successful completion of the trial, the Greenwave solution will be offered to all local authorities using the Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system.
