Appointment of up to four members
Would you like to play a central role in influencing and improving how councils and other public bodies address the challenges facing Scotland and help people’s lives?
The Accounts Commission is the independent public watchdog for holding councils and joint boards to account for their spending and performance. The Commission is looking for up to four new members. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, we would like to hear from you.
The Commission has organised a series of events, ‘The Commission Uncovered’, open to prospective applicants to learn more about our work, how we fulfil our responsibilities, and the expectations of being a Commission member. They are an informal opportunity to hear from the Secretary of the Commission and a current member. These are as follows:
Edinburgh: 7 February, 6.30pm.
Glasgow: 9 February, 10.00am.
Inverness: 20 February, 2.00pm.
If you would like to attend one of these events or would like further details, you are asked to contact Jillian Elgin on 0131-625-1615 or at email@example.com
Meantime, the link (below) to the Commission’s website gives you further information about these positions.
Scottish Ministers particularly welcome applications from groups currently under-represented on Scotland’s public bodies, such as women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and people aged under 50.
