Head of Neighbourhood Street Scene - London Borough of Redbridge

Redbridge – An ambitious and changing borough

Head of Neighbourhood Street Scene      up to £75k

Redbridge is undergoing rapid transformation, with Crossrail’s imminent arrival fuelling investment in new homes, jobs and local facilities. During this time of exciting change, the Council must ensure that our borough is cleaner, greener and safer than ever before.

We are now looking for new leaders who share our vision and commitment to supporting the development of a vibrant, growing and diverse East London community, as well as a modern and inclusive council. You will be responsible for leading key elements of our strategy which signals our new locality working and placing residents at the heart of decision making.

As Head of Neighbourhood Street Scene, you will be responsible for managing the teams spanning Street Cleansing, Environmental Enforcement and Neighbourhood Engagement, with timely and efficient service delivery.

Overall, you will be responsible for ensuring the integration of all relevant services within Street Scene, throughout the Council and partner organisations in accordance with best practice, legislation and Council policy.

With credibility and gravitas, you’ll lead these crucial services, working in partnership with a range of key partners such as the Police and Environment Agency.

It’s about using your influence and communication skills to get people on board with your aspirations for the Borough. In light of the current financial climate you will drive forward this integrated model for street cleansing, enforcement and education and engagement within neighbourhoods. You will lead by example, shaping cost-effective solutions while driving Redbridge’s Street Scene services into the future.

We want managers who are team players, customer focussed, innovative and dynamic with the determination to deliver an ambitious programme at pace and in the spirit of cooperation, collaboration and community engagement.   We are open to individuals coming from non-traditional backgrounds and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
