Young, skilled and in localgov

Glenrothes tonight for Fife Councils annual apprentice awards dinner.

It was a pleasure to give one of the opening speeches and I took the opportunity to remind a receptive audience of the opportunities local authorities are creating for young people in these very tough times. Of course this ultimately benefits the local community as the young people they have invested in become the skilled workforce of the future who carry out their repairs.

Fife’s scheme has been consistently top at producing high quality tradespeople over the past decade, winning mant APSE awards.
